After the success of Nguyet Cam's original dark energy monitor, her agencies began producing smaller, more limited versions. By 1973, Vietnamese agents were carrying these devices which can detect uses of dark energy by metahumans or the presence of DEntities within 20 yards by lighting up. Unlike the original device, they don't determine direction or strength of the dark energy but three of the devices can be used to triangulate. As the years go on the size and sophistication of these handheld devices improves but so does the prevelance of dark energy and the ensuing noise.
