Abbie Hoffman

Abbie Hoffman, gained anti-mind-control powers courtesy of J. Edgar Hoover, and used them when addressing both houses of Congress in 1971 to rid them of President Johnson’s influence right before powerful testimony from members of Metavictims Advocacy and Support. They voted to outlaw “alteration of consciousness, morals, beliefs, behavior or intent via dark energy” along with banning the study of syntergenic science. This landmark legislation is known as “The Federal Cognitive Sovereignty Act.”

In 1973 Hoffman negotiated a peaceful settlement when members of the American Indian Movement took Wounded Knee, South Dakota by force. He later interceded with the Dream and Jason Weeks in the 1975 stand-off between the FBI and the AIM at Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota.

Despite all of these activities and granting dark energy powers to several individuals, including Cassandra Cowper, Abbie Hoffman is an undeveloped metahuman with lots of room for the GM to develop. His "mind-opening" powers might be similar to Reddy March's or even to the Fog in the Swamps of Free Will syntergene, but he is not officially written up in the Progenitor setting book. The free Woodstock Scenario by Greg Stolze describes one version of his Mind Freeing power (a 260 pt power) but leaves the remaining 90 points for other powers.
